Forum > Identifying Birds > Black Bird With White Head, Cumbria

Sitting in my garden in west Cumbria, on edge of town between coast and Lake District.  We have just seen a bird we cannot identify and we certainly haven't seen it before.  The bird is blackbird sized and shape, with black body, wings and tail but has a white head and yellow/orange beak. Beak appeared to be between blackbird to crow shaped, very obviously a song bird as it was its song that drew our attention.  We couldn't identify in RSPB identifier or our bird books and a general search on the internet is the white headed bul bul, but this apparently resides in Burma.  Any help would be appreciated
