hi there, - I have a Heron to identify from Florida. I was told it is a Tricoloured Heron but I have been looking at pictures and this doesn't seem to match - If anyone can help please. 

Excuse the photo!!! The computer uploaded sideways for some reason!! It should be horizontal.

I tend to agree that it is actually a Tri Colored Heron. The picture is just at an odd angle with the way the bird is twisted around. Looking carefully at your image I can just make out the white head crest and the neck has hints of purple

The only other possibility from that region would be an Anhinga but they have a bright yellow beak, darker legs and no white crest.

Sometimes picture quality can hinder a clear identification and other times, one little brown bird can look much like another. ?? I'll always have a go though.
