On behalf of John who sent in an email:-

I haven’t been able to identify this one. Can you help please? Size of a blackbird / thrush. Orangey brown throat. Narrow white stripe below going towards undercarriage. Dark brown chest either side of white stripe. White stripe on leading edge of each wing or may be side of body.

I was distracted and didn’t see it fly. Top of head and back are grey. White under tail. It behaves like a blackbird but it runs, not hop. It ate a worm and it poked about for insects on a lawn at the Ramping Cat care home near Burford, Oxfordshire.

I have not found anything like it on RSPB or google images. Any help would be much appreciated.
