On behalf of Katie who sent in an email:-

A small sparrow size bird, all light cream in colour, no markings in feathers, no shades of brown or head colour. We have seen it in our rural garden over the past 2 days, hopping around a lot on the ground, but not going on bird feeders or the bird table.

Is it a specific type or is it an albino type sparrow? Look forward to a response.

Many thanks Katie

Hi Katie. Cetainly this bird looks to be about size of a Sparrow but unfortunately from the pictures you've given, there isn't really much detail to work with. White Sparrows are not unheard of but would be very unusual. Please post again if you manage to get a closer picture.

Hi, appreciate your response from a distant photo. This little bird continues to visit our garden almost daily, always with other sparrows. It's front is still very cream coloured but it's back is changing colour only slightly to more light fawn with markings in it. It is very noticeable when it it arrives being very different in colouring and easily seen in the bushes. Had a Pergrine Falcon land on the bird table last week, so hope it doesn't choose to eat the sparrow.  Now that was a sight!
